Honouring the Version of Me That Showed Up Today

Today was a low day. Just one of those days where my brain and body were like, “Yeah… we’re not doing all that.”
My original plan was a CrossFit class and an Olympic lifting session. But that version of the plan wasn’t built for the energy I actually had.
So instead of forcing it, I chose my medium‑energy option — the one that’s already built into my program for days exactly like this.
This is why I don’t rely on “see how I feel and decide from there.” That creates decision fatigue, and on low days, decision fatigue wins every time.
My training plan has three versions — low, medium, and high — so I don’t have to negotiate with myself or feel guilty for not doing the “big” one. I just pick the option that matches my capacity and get to work.
And honestly? Today’s medium‑energy session felt like a win. Not because it was perfect — but because it was aligned.
If you’re tired of feeling like you’re failing your own plans… maybe it’s not you. Maybe your plan just needs more than one version of you.
